Through our many years of professional experience in the assessment and optimization of energy processes, in the development of waste-to-energy concepts, in experimental studies on residue utilization and in biogenic solid fuel characterization, we offer our know-how in the following areas:
Biofilm carrier (BFTS) for MBBR:
In our group of companies, we have been providing the foamed HDPE carrier material for biofilm carriers for 12 years. The BFTS (Biofilm-Trägerscheiben BFTS) are used in the biological water and wastewater treatment in the moving bed biofilm reactor (Moving bed biofilm reactor MBBR) and in the aquaculture water treatment. The microorganisms, which are involved in the degradation processes in the wastewater, are immobilized on the carrier material, where they ideally form a thin biofilm. The carrier material was specially developed for nitrification, denitrification and COD (chemical oxygen demand) elimination. Our thin carrier have a high surface area in which the microorganisms can settle in protected pores and simultaneously remain in contact with the surrounding wastewater. Thus, an optimal supply of nutrients to the microorganisms and an efficient removal of the metabolic products can be achieved, which explains the effectiveness and the high degradation capacity of our BFTS.

Geothermal Energy
We develop the coaxial earth probe system BD-Koax for geothermal cooling of industrial processes to dissipate low-temperature waste heat in an environmentally friendly manner and to store it for later use. The probes are used for heating and cooling.
Solids sampling
We offer sampling methods for solid bulk materials that comply with official standards and guidelines (waste materials, solid fuels, ashes).
Fuel technology
We offer experimental resizing of solid biomasses, particle size sorting of bulk materials up to 10 m³ and subsequently briquetting and pelletizing. Together with accredited laboratories we offer the investigation of fuel properties of solid fuels. This includes determination of the elemental composition and fuel-technical and physico-mechanical properties. In collaboration with research institutes, we offer the examination of thermal utilization of waste as well as bio-based and fossil solid fuels using specially developed pilot plants to analyze the ignition and burnout behavior of fuel particles and fuel beds. Based on the laboratory and experimental results and in compliance with environmental law and emission control law, we will advise you on to what extent your fuel is suitable for thermal conversion.
Construction of test stands
As part of research projects and development projects, we design individual test procedures as well as test stands for an extensive function, suitability or reliability test of your components, assemblies or complete systems. We develop specific measurement campaigns, test procedures and test setups for each application, with which all necessary (long-term) tests can be carried out and all important analysis results can be documented and evaluated. We focus on your requirements when developing a test stand. The close cooperation with the other company divisions helps us to develop and build your individual test bench.
3D printing
Our 3D printing technology center and our spatial and organizational proximity to a plastics processor allow us to combine the advantages of additive manufacturing with the greatest possible flexibility in the selection of materials. This enables us to offer individual material solutions. Our 3D printing equipment allows us to manufacture components up to 400 mm in diameter and 600 mm in height for prototype and test stand construction.
